At the group's request nearly 60% was used to directly support the two Tabora schools with much needed books and equipment, and 40% went to pay bursaries for an additional 10 Imeli students. A further £100 enabled a former student of Imeli School, to complete his science teacher training course.
The venue, Ettington Park Hotel near Stratford on Avon, was chosen for its central location in UK and also for its 'wow' factor to encourage overseas members to attend.
Most of the group did not know of FUM's presence in Tabora Region so FUM chairman Richard Pratt, secretary Rod Smith and treasurer Nick Vinall gave presentations to enlighten them. Later we enjoyed meeting many of the group over a very pleasant lunch and hearing their stories.
FUM is very grateful for the group's generous support of our work.
